Calibration of granite measuring plates, measuring instruments and measuring standards

The service life of a granite measuring plate depends largely on the application. Regular calibration and reworking are important and naturally improve the service life.

We recommend an inspection interval of 24 months for normal use (one-shift operation). A shorter inspection interval (12 months) may also be advisable for higher loads.

As the tolerances are in the µm range, minor damage is often not visually recognizable, which is why regular calibration at annual intervals is strongly recommended.

We calibrate measuring and control plates made of all makes of natural hard stone. If necessary, we will provide you with a non-binding offer for reworking in our air-conditioned rooms, including a quality test certificate and a DAkkS calibration certificate on request.

The natural hard stone we use is of high mechanical strength. A good finish can be achieved from the crystalline structure. The flat surface is then refined by fine lapping by hand. Lapping achieves accuracy levels that you can select as required.

These are the accuracy levels and the recommended location for our measuring and control plates:

Grade 1 and grade 0: Flatness in accordance with DIN 876/1 and 0 -> for production and workshops

Grade 00: Flatness according to DIN 876/00 -> for the measuring room

Grade 000: Flatness according to DIN 876/000 -> for the laboratory

In order to guarantee the tolerances achieved, final production takes place in air-conditioned rooms of the latest design. A patented air guidance ceiling guarantees low-draught and low-flow air guidance. This means that the measuring rooms comply with the highest quality class VDI/VDE 2627-1.

You will receive a quality test certificate with topographical representation free of charge with our products. A DAkkS calibration certificate can be supplied on request for a fee.

A factory calibration from PLANOLITH is supplied directly with the product, depending on the required accuracy, and contains the most important information. Similar to DAkkS calibration, the final processing and testing steps are carried out in a standardized testing laboratory. This certificate is perfectly adequate for many internal applications, e.g. for regular functional testing, for production controls or as proof for internal QM systems.

DAkkS calibration, on the other hand, is carried out in an accredited calibration laboratory in accordance with strict, legally defined requirements and is only issued on direct request. It documents all additional information and offers greater measurement accuracy. In audit-proof industries, DAkkS calibration is often mandatory.

The calibration certificates are supplied as a printout with the delivery bill and are also archived in our electronic system.
